ETP Director Philip Timothy Rose and ETP team in Vietnam, met Vice Minister, Nguyen Hoang Long and senior officials of Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) to discuss ETP’s contribution to Vietnam’s energy transition, including the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) which is led by Vice Minister Long.

This meeting, featuring leading representatives from the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority (EREA) and the Department of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development (EESD), solidified a shared commitment to Vietnam’s 2050 net-zero emissions target. 

ETP will deliver proposed support for MOIT’s accelerated energy transition, encompassing key areas such as: floating solar integration for existing coal-fired plants, offshore wind development, energy intensity reduction, industrial decarbonization in response to CBAM, and alignment with the revised Electricity Law and forthcoming revisions to Vietnam’s Law on Energy Efficiency.
